A dental implant is the standard and often the recommendation for replacing a single missing tooth. They can be used to replace one tooth or multiple implants can be used to replace many teeth.  A dental implant consists of 3 parts: a titanium root (fixture), an abutment (or post), and a crown. Our office works with a local periodontist or oral surgeon for the titanium root (or fixture) portion. This is an outpatient procedure that only requires local anesthetic, just like a filling or a crown. An integration time (6 weeks to 6 months depending on many factors) is required, after which the abutment and crown are fabricated through our office.

Benefits to a dental implant consist of natural looking esthetics, longevity and predictability. Implants offer the most natural feel of all single-tooth replacement options. Implants are both a financial and time commitment for the patient. Our office has completed over a thousand successful implants replacing single and multiple teeth in the back and in the front of the mouth.
